We offer a comprehensive in-service and evening course training to Teachers. Our courses are designed to address the ever changing needs of Teachers and are suitable to both new entrants and experienced Teachers.<\/p>\n
2025\/26<\/strong><\/p>\n We had an eventful year for 2025\/26. We started the year with Se\u00e1n Rossiter delivering a review of the Applied Maths marking scheme. We would like to thank Se\u00e1n for making the journey to Cork to share his knowledge and wisdom of the marking process. All attendees thouroughly enjoyed the presentation.<\/p>\n We were delighted to have committee member, Eoghan O’Leary who delivered an insightful presentation on problem solving in Leaving Cert Maths with Section B being the main focus. Eoghan gave attendees some excellent strategies to help their students bridge the gap from skills to applications. Many thanks to Eoghan for hosting and to CBC for facilitating the event.<\/p>\n Thank you to our former chairperson, Eoghan Long who presented on retrieval practice. Eoghan delivered and shared many interesting ideas in how we teach Maths to help students retain their understanding of the content on a long term basis. Many thanks to Eoghan for hosting and to CBC for facilitating the event.<\/p>\n Most recently, the Cork branch hosted a different style of CPD with open conversation and discussion of everyday Maths department challenges being the main theme of the night. Several members of our committee spoke and shared how their school approaches streaming, TY Maths and the order of completion of topics for Leaving Cert. There was a great attendance on the night and we would like to acknowledge everyone who contributed to what was a very informative and thought provoking session. Many thanks in particular to our committee members and to the Cork Education Support Centre for facilitating the event.<\/p>\n The last event of the year for the Cork branch will be our upcoming review of the Maths State Examinations Exam papers and our AGM on Monday, the 8th of June. We look forward to seeing you all there.<\/p>\n We are working hard on putting together a number of exciting and engaging CPD sessions for the 2026\/27 academic year.
