The Team Maths competition has been a long running activity of the Irish Maths Teachers’ Association with local rounds since 1991 and National Finals since 2005. Team Maths is a table quiz for teams of 4 students from Leaving Cert year with questions based on the Leaving Certificate higher level course. Regional Rounds are held in a number of centres across Cork and a select number of teams qualify for the National Final.

Team Maths 2026

We had another very successful year in Cork for Team Maths. With over 300 students competing across three centres, it was a memorable day for all involved. Many thanks to every volunteer who helped with the organising and running of these competitions.

In Bandon, Colaiste na Toirbhirte hosted our West Cork centre where Bandon Grammar School emerged as victors. In Blarney, Scoil Muire gan Smál hosted as Davis College, Mallow won out in impressive fashion. Davis College had a second team qualify for the national final with a high second place score. In Cork City, 37 teams converged in the Metropole Hotel where Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh placed first. This was a particularly impressive acheivement as the team won with three students. Team Maths 2025

Congratulations to Presentation Brothers College on retaining the Cork Trophy after they won their regional round in Cork before going on to achieve the highest points out of all the Cork based schools competing in the national final.

Congratulations to Kinsale Community School, Christian Brothers College and Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Blarney on their remarkable scores in the regional rounds and proudly representing their county in the national final.

We greatly appreciate Christian Brothers College, Colaiste na Toirbhirte, Bandon and Nano Nagle College, Faranree for hosting the regional round.
